During its four years of service to the Confederacy, 1489 men of all ages passed through the ranks of the 37TH Virginia Infantry, at one time or another. Of this number 124 were Killed in Action or Mortally Wounded. 125 died of other causes. This established a death rate of 16. 7 per cent.

The number of Wounded and POW of the regiment are not available at this time.

The casualty statistics for company “I”, The New Garden Fearnots” are as follows:

112 names appear on the roster for Company “I”.

25 members of the company gave their lives in their term of service

This amounted to 33 % casualties for the company.
